El Negro De Oro | Our Story
Ecuadorian food, family hospitality
We bring the flavors of Ecuador to Trenton and Hamilton, and we treat every guest like family.
Cuenca and Naranjal
We're an Ecuadorian couple, one of us from Cuenca in the mountains and one from Naranjal on the coast. So you'll find llapingachos (potato patties) on the menu next to coastal plates like chaulafán (Ecuadorian fried rice).
Our name on the sauce
Negro de Oro is the restaurant and it's also a cream sauce. Try the carne asada con camarones en Salsa Negro de Oro (grilled beef with shrimp in cream sauce) and you'll see why we put our name on it.
Soup comes first at lunch
Our lunch specials start with a bowl of soup, then your plate. Ask what the soup is that day.
Two blocks down Broad Street
We moved a couple of blocks down Broad Street from our old spot, and we're in Hamilton, not Trenton. If you ended up at the old place first, we're just up the road.
